About Me
My name is Rob Tucker and I’m a Principal at Leadership Research Institute – an executive and leadership development consultancy with headquarters in Rancho Santa Fe, California. I work as an executive coach and facilitator for organizations focused on science, technology and engineering. In the past ten years, my work has taken me all over the world with more than eighty client organizations. Prior to joining LRI, my background was in research, earning a Ph.D. in technical communication from the Annenberg School at the University of Southern California. My doctoral work examined best practices in “science translation,” – the communication of highly technical material to non-scientific audiences.
In my ten years with LRI, I’ve focused my work in two primary commercial sectors – Finance and Technology. My work with financial organizations included coaching and facilitation for a number of global investment banks, holding banks, and other financial entities. My work in the technology field includes coaching, content development, and facilitation for large-scale engineering and technical clients, including global hardware and software development organizations. I’ve worked extensively in Asia, Europe and the emerging geographies (with coaching and facilitation in India, Brazil and Argentina).
I’m an avid technology fan, the proud parent of two sons (3 and 6 years old), and a passionate reader in the fields of neuroscience, history, and macroeconomics. I also blog for the Education 2.0 section of O’Reilly Radar. I’ll try to cross-post to readingaboutleading.com what I write at Radar, but readers who are interested in a broader discussion of emerging technologies and their impact of society, government, and education should feel welcome there as well.
Welcome, and please feel free to contact me about any of the posts or general questions regarding leadership effectiveness.
