Some great posts from other leadership blogs that I’ve been reading this week:

Art Petty has a really great post about leadership in a matrix context — very relevant for many of my clients.  Available here.

– Leading Blog excerpts an interesting discussion of future trends offered by the CEO of Coca Cola.  The original speech is available here

– A good discussion at Management Craft about how to make yourself more coachable.  Its from a few years back but it is every bit as relevant today.

– The Practice of Leadership has a great post summarizing research from CCL with the punchline: significant gaps exist between what we reward today in leaders and what we’re going to need.  Fascinating reading — CCL’s report is here.

-

– Finally, Dan McCarthy at Great Leadership has a series of posts here, here, and here about the little things that make a big difference in leadership effectiveness.  Thorough and true.

I really enjoyed Dan McCarthy’s series on great leadership, particularly the article on “showing up on time” and how it communicates the relative importance of the attendees. Although these series offer good insight into real world management and leadership scenarios and identify key traits that require attention and development, they are short on providing actual techniques (or even links to material) for improving and developing those skills.
